Meet Our Team
Carla D. Gilbertson, DVM
Dr. Gilbertson is the owner and small-animal clinician at Gilbertson Veterinary Clinic. She grew up near Hamilton and graduated from Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Before opening the clinic, she worked in both mixed-animal practice in Bottineau and small-animal practice across North Dakota as a relief veterinarian. Also, she served as a Veterinary Medical Officer for the USDA.
Dr. Gilbertson’s approach to veterinary medicine is pragmatic and compassionate. She believes good care starts with honest communication and practical problem-solving, especially when situations are difficult. Her professional interests include preventive care, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery.
When she’s not at the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband Andy and their sons, catching up on rest, working toward her master’s degree, or planning the next family adventure. She’s deeply grateful for the mentors, colleagues, family, and community members who have supported her along the way.

She enjoys being outdoors, golfing, hiking, reading, and taking road trips with her mom to rock concerts. Creative and upbeat, she brings a bright, caring presence to coworkers and clients alike.
Allie
Veterinary TechnicianAllie grew up in Cavalier and earned her Veterinary Technician Applied Science degree from Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN. Her passion for helping animals began in college, where she worked at a shelter and discovered how rewarding it can be to advocate for those who can’t speak for themselves.
After college, Allie returned home to Cavalier. She continues to volunteer at the local shelter while working full-time outside the veterinary field. She joins Gilbertson Veterinary Clinic on a part-time basis, bringing her experience and compassion with every patient she helps.
Outside of work, Allie enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and caring for her own pets.
